Governance

The following rules and regulations will serve as the general guideline for the African eSports Cup to ensure an orderly, structured, and fair outcome of the event, and will also form part of the code and conduct which must always be adhered to. The rules and regulations will apply to all the participants.

The organizers will carefully monitor all match play progress closely and decisively during all the phases by utilizing Twitch and a Discord Channel for result submissions. Please Note! Cheating will lead to IDQ (Immediate Disqualification).

Conduct

Players must always maintain a professional and respectful behaviour, both in-game and during interactions with all parties involved, and refrain from improper conduct, always.

Any form of discrimination through improper remarks, verbal abuse, intentional feeding, and trolling by means of toxicity or tilting, leading to (but not limited to) sexual & gender harassment, racism, or any other form of intimidation (Cyber bullying) shall not be tolerated and will sanction IDQ (Immediate Disqualification) from the event.

Cheating and exploits will be monitored and reported on by the organizers and officials. Such contraventions are disallowed and will be seen as unfair play advantage. The penalty for such intentional offences is IDQ (Immediate Disqualification).

Only fair play is allowed. No psychological tactics to upset or disrupt opponents with maliciously remarks will be allowed.

The organizers will determine the substitute protocol to ensure fairness and transparency.

Pause and delay strategies will also be monitored by the organizers and officials to avoid concentration blockages.

The organizers shall determine the communication channels to be allowed during Matchplay.

The Tournament Director will give guidance on the stream and broadcasting platforms allowed.

The organizers will monitor spectator interaction to prevent outside disruptive and unsportsmanlike remarks.

Match-fixing, bribery, or any other such activities will be monitored consistently to ensure that the integrity of the event is not compromised and maintained intact.

Disputes between parties will be handled respectfully and orderly through an effective conflict resolution management system.

Post-match procedures will be determined by the Tournament Director.



Performance enhancement and substance abuse are completely disallowed from the African Esports Cup, and are also against the law. The event promotes fair and just gaming. All the participants of the African Esports Cup will be subjected to signing a form that compels them to abide by and adhere to the rules and regulations that form the governance procedure of the event. Participants can be tested during any stage of the event in alignment with the WADA protocols. Transgressors who are found guilty will face immediate disqualification (IDQ) from the event. Banning may also be instituted.

Timekeeping

Respectful and effective timekeeping will be a crucial and essential element to ensure the successful execution of this event. Organizers will implement proper procedures to regulate effective communication on match time management. Participants are all expected to respect timekeeping rules, event organizers, officials, and fellow participants. Contravention due to the implementation of deliberate poor timekeeping strategies may lead to the forfeit or losing of rounds or even matches because of default.

Event Coverage

The Tournament Director will determine the media and marketing management profile of the event.

General House rules

The Tournament Director will communicate the rules applicable to the physical venue set to host the Grand Finale during the third phase in Abuja, Nigeria. All qualifiers will be informed ahead of time and are expected to respect such rules.

The Tournament Director will have the power to amend the rules applicable to the African Esports Cup in consultation with the other organizers to ensure a successful and fair outcome of the event.
